SynoLED Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the SynoLED mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it to control your SynoLED ambient TV lighting box. SynoLED is developed by [YOUR NAME / COMPANY NAME], based in Morocco.

In short: the App works on your home network, does not require an account, and does not sell or share your personal data.

1. Information the App uses

a) Wi-Fi network details

When you set up a new SynoLED box, you enter your home Wi-Fi network name (SSID), password and country in the App. This information is sent directly from your phone to your SynoLED box over your local network so the box can join your Wi-Fi. It is not sent to our servers and we never see it.

b) Device connection details

The App stores information about your SynoLED boxes (such as device name, local IP address and connection settings) on your phone so it can reconnect to them. If you save login credentials for advanced device management (for example SSH username and password), they are stored encrypted on your phone using Android secure storage and are only used to connect to your own box.

c) Local network discovery

To find SynoLED boxes automatically, the App scans your local network using standard discovery protocols (SSDP, mDNS and local network scanning). This happens only inside your home network. No information about other devices on your network is collected or transmitted to us.

d) Device status information

The App reads status information from your SynoLED box, such as LED state, brightness, active effect, system information and temperature. This data stays between your phone and your box.

e) Push notifications

If you allow notifications, the App uses OneSignal to send alerts and announcements. OneSignal may process a device identifier (push token), device model, operating system version, language and approximate time zone in order to deliver notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone settings. See OneSignal’s privacy policy: https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy.

f) App preferences

Your settings — such as language (English, Arabic, French), picture modes, sleep timer and saved devices — are stored locally on your phone.

2. Permissions

  • Internet / Network access: to communicate with your SynoLED box on your local network and to receive notifications.
  • Wi-Fi state / Nearby devices: to detect your current Wi-Fi network and discover SynoLED boxes nearby.
  • Location (if requested by Android): some Android versions require location permission to read Wi-Fi network names. The App does not collect, store or share your location.
  • Notifications: to show alerts, only if you allow it.

3. What we do NOT do

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.
  • We do not collect your Wi-Fi password or device credentials on our servers.
  • We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-party services

The App uses the following third-party service, which has its own privacy policy:

5. Data retention and deletion

All data stored by the App (devices, credentials, preferences) remains on your phone. You can delete it at any time by clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the App. To reset Wi-Fi settings stored on your SynoLED box, use the reset option in the App or contact us. To request deletion of any notification data held by OneSignal, contact us at the email below.

6. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage of saved credentials on your phone. Communication with your SynoLED box happens on your local network; we recommend using a secure (WPA2/WPA3) home Wi-Fi network.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under Moroccan Law 09-08 on the protection of personal data, and the GDPR for users in the European Union), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
